Alt-Ac Career Resources

A 19-century engraving of a reading group

From Octave Uzanne, Le Livre, Paris, A. Quantin, 1883. Original author unknown.

I am compiling a list of resources for graduate students and recent graduates who are interested in exploring alt-ac (alternative academic) careers. The list is already unwieldy and will need to be better organized, but for now it is mostly reading on the need for graduate programs to embrace the #alt-ac movement and the value of #alt-ac scholars, with a few more practical pieces thrown in. Primarily, these are humanities-focused. This is simply because that’s my background. If you have suggestions for links that should be included here, please contact me. I’m especially interested in resources that offer practical suggestions. I also want to thank the members of the Versatile PhD community who have contributed to this list.
